Welcome folks to the Sunday Match Report. As the year progresses there will be more and more badminton games from our various teams EUBC 1 through 6, sometimes with more than one match a week. With this in mind I will be collating all results from each week in a report on Sundays. This week’s line-up:
Lothian League: EUBC Men’s 1st vs. EUBC Men’s 2nd. EUBC Men’s 3rd vs. Livingston.
BUCS League: EUBC 2nd vs. Robert Gordon 1st. EUBC 3rd v.s Aberdeen 2nd.
This last week has seen the two fairly major things. First up was the start of the Lothian League, which will be running all of this year. And then we had the first ever Charlie Squad BUCS game against Aberdeen’s 2nd team.
It seems that we had a fairly mixed but generally positive set of results again this week from all of the various folks from Alpha, Bravo and Charlie Squads. As said by Bravo Squad Captain (Simon Wood) Alpha Squad “asserted their Alpha-ness” and beat the Bravo Squad men a hefty 16 – 2, which I guess just makes sense. The Charlie Squad men, unfortunately, lost their Lothian match 13 – 5 but did not seem disheartened as Livingston are a strong team.
Things improved on Saturday when Bravo Squad came down on RG 1st like the fist of a god, beating them 11 – 1 and Charlie Squad gave an outstanding account for themselves in their first BUCS game, beating Aberdeen 2nd 9 – 3. All in all, another good week.
