So the season is under way and EUBC is in full swing. Most teams have been decided and you can check the team pages to see if you have made a team this year. Some teams have already had their first fixtures of the season and from the results so far it is looking good although it is still early days. Match reports will be posted every week so you can keep up with how well our teams are doing.
Membership is still available so if you have not registered yet get on to the membership section of the website and sign up now as you still have time to get a discount on your gym membership.
The social secs have recently been planning a few things so here are a few dates to keep free in your diary. The first of these is a Halloween themed social on the 29th of October. Next is the Osuna cup on the 8th of November where we go down to Newcastle for the weekend. Finally, at this moment in time our Social secs are planning our Christmas meal which from the sounds of it will be held on the 27th of November but more details of this will follow. If you want to keep up with our socials and get more information then join our Facebook page and all details/events will be posted there.
Another event that happened recently was on the 3rd of October a fair amount of club members attended a pub quiz which helped raise over £1000 for Lothian Badminton. Thank you to all that attended this event as I’m sure this money will go a long way.
In addition, the Edinburgh Evening Tournament will be the held the week of the 24th of November. If you are interested ask Wilgene and more information will be posted on the website about it very soon.
Now for a few reminders! After our club session on a Tuesday we usually go to Vodka revs for food and a few drinks. We would like to see as many new members as possible coming along at some point. Don’t be afraid as we are a friendly bunch of people once you get to know us. Also a lot of people have asked on the Facebook page if we provide rackets at session and the answer to that is yes we do. If you are a complete beginner don’t be afraid to come down to one of our sessions to try out as we have a very mixed ability of players at the club.
Finally, if anyone has any questions feel free to ask on our Facebook which is the best place to keep up to date with everything.
