EUBC1

On the 1st of November our first team played Herriot Watts first team and won 12-0. Another really good win again from the team. Kevin had a tough singles match but managed to pull through after losing the first set. In particular a special mention to all the girls who played outstanding and won all their games very comfortably.

The 15th of November saw the biggest match for our first team so far against Strathclyde’s first team. This result was a 12-0 win to Edinburgh. This match contained many hard fought battles but the team pulled through in the end. In particular Wilgene had a great singles match against a strong opponent. After losing the first set he fought hard to come back and win the next two sets. This means that the first team continue their unbeaten record in the league.

Video footage form this match will posted on the clubs YouTube channel in the near future.

EUBC2

Saturday the 8th of November saw our 2nds take on Napiers 1st team and resulted in a 11-1 victory for Edinburgh. There was a good result in Simons singles to beat a very competitive opponent. Furthermore, Conor and Evies mixed was a very good match as well. This is the second time they have beaten Napier 11-1 so the team will be looking for a 12-0 win in a few weeks’ time when they meet Napier again.

A week later they took on UWS which was a 9-3 win to Edinburgh. Apparently this was an eventful day with a less than eventful match as described by the team’s captain. UWS had a former junior Scottish no.1 who all 3 of their games but the rest was a breeze. Special mention to Jiang who had a decent win in her 1st singles against a tough opponent. Similar to the first team the seconds also continue their unbeaten form this season.

EUBC3

The thirds have not had it easy the last couple of weeks with some very tough opposition and the team going all out to try and win these fixtures. Sadly this resulted in two losses. The first was on the 1st of November which was a 10-2 loss to Glasgow 2nds and then on the 8th of November which was also a 10-2 loss to Stirling’s 2nd team.

However putting these results behind them the thirds pushed on with their match against St Andrews 2nd team on the 15th of November. This ended in a 6-6 draw which was a good result coming back after a tough couple of weeks.

EUBC 4-6

In the Lothian League the 4ths played the 6th team in another grudge match which resulted in a 16-2 win to the 4ths. Special mention to Keith and Scott who got the 2 sets off the 4ths.

The 5ths sadly lost to Penicuik South 12-6 after a disappointing performance. The 5ths will be looking to get back to winning ways with their net match
