2) When are club sessions?
We have 2 club sessions every week starting on the 9th of September 2024!
• Wednesday @ Pleasance Sports Hall 6pm – 10pm.
• Saturday @ St. Leonards Land 9am – 12pm.
Sign up for our taster sessions during Welcome Week to give it a go.
3) I don’t have any equipment. What do I need to bring?
We provide rackets and feather shuttles. All you need to bring are sports clothes and yourself!
4) How does membership work?

5) I’m not a student at the University of Edinburgh is that an issue?
That’s perfectly fine. When you sign up on the EUSU homepage, you will register as a non-student account with a slightly different membership fee. See the Membership part of our website and click the “Non-students” Tab for a breakdown of costs.
6) I’m only here for one semester can I still join?
Of course, we have Single Semester memberships!
7) I’ve never really played badminton before.
Our club sessions are perfect for you, they’re open to everyone. All you need to do is bring yourself!
8) When are trials for teams?
Our welcome week trials for new members are on the 10th, 12th and 13th September 2024 at Pleasance with start times as follows:
- Men’s Team Round 1: Tuesday 10th September, 10:30am-12:30pm @ Pleasance Sports Hall
- Women’s Team Round 1: Thursday 12th September, 2pm-4:30pm @ Pleasance Sports Hall
- Round 2: Friday 13th September @ St Leonard’s Land
- Round 2 by captains invitation only
Please note, new members MUST attend trials in order to be considered for a team. It is a competitive process so please be on time and play your best! If you are unable to attend, please just shoot us an email at badminton@ed.ac.uk letting us know of your situation and we can sort alternative arrangements for you.

9) When are the team training sessions?
Please contact your captain for further details as this is team dependant.
10) I’ve missed the taster session, but I would still like to try badminton out. Is that possible?
Absolutely, come down to one of our club sessions and speak to one of the committee (look out for the green shirts). The first session you come to is free!
