We had some great results from BUCS this year including some a last 16 result! Hosted in Sheffield this year, BUCS individual championships attracts the best players from every university in the UK and the competition is tough!
Men: Stewert Ferns, Kai Lin, Stuart Pittman, Bill DeJong, Wei Ong
Women: Caroline Collinson, Aisha Kerr, Rena Lui, Bennath Mitchell, Fiona Pittman
In the men’s singles all three of our players (Stewert, Stuart and Bill) reached the last 32 and they took several seeds down on their way there in some tough matches. Bill went even further and reached the last 16 before going down in three games.
In women’s singles and doubles our pairs faced seeds early on in the competition and despite putting up a good fight, they lost. We did very well in the mixed and doubles with Bill and Fiona reaching the last 32 and Kai and Stuart making it to the last day of play.
